Launch of the Danube Box teaching kit for schools
Danube Day 2010 sees the launch of a new version of the Danube Box interative teaching kit especially adapted for Bulgarian schools. Aimed at informing and educating youngsters about the importance of the Danube River, it covers the geography, ecology and cultural diversity of the Danube countries and guides students in how to protect water resources. It has been developed in conjunction with the Bulgarian Environmental Partnership Foundation. The kit will be incorporated into the Bulgarian education system and a series of seminars for teachers will be held in partnership with the Regional Inspectorates of Education. See www.danubebox.org.
